My Dear People

The Catholic Development Fund is built around the simple philosophy that we all benefit through the pooling of Church funds rather than depositing directly in multiple places with the for-profit banking system. The CDF pays a competitive rate of interest on deposits and uses these funds to provide loans for the building of schools, parish churches and facilities, hospitals and aged care on favourable and competitive terms. The surpluses generated by the CDF are retained within church – without the CDF, these surpluses would have been retained by the banks as profits for their shareholders.

Surpluses generated by the CDF are helping to support the good works of the Church in areas such as Aboriginal Ministry, CatholicCare, Chaplaincies, the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, the Ephpheta Centre and the Seminary of the Good Shepherd and others. These good works make a real difference in the lives of Sydney Catholics and indeed the wider community. We can all be proud of the CDF’s work which can only be realised by the ongoing loyal support from our Clergy, our Parishes, our Schools, the Catholic Education Office, Religious Congregations and Church Agencies, who are all carrying forward the mission of Jesus Christ.

The CDF has since its inception delivered a range of cost effective and efficient products and services that are relevant to its client base and is committed to updating its services using the latest technology. This website aims to provide another platform of service delivery to our Clergy, Parishes, Schools, Catholic Agencies and Congregations, indeed all the CDF’s valued clients, who continue to support this worthy mission.

Sincerely in Christ,

+ (Most Rev) Anthony Fisher OP
